O Happy Day

Today is a happy day. After our service was over today, my eight year old, Bethany, found me and came up and hugged me and said, "Daddy, I asked Jesus to come into my heart today, now I'm gonna get baptized."

Wow, talk about making a Daddy's heart melt...

Bethany and I have discussed the topic in recent weeks but I really want to thank Mrs. Paula and her teaching staff for the job that they do because they work really hard to make a difference in the kids lives and it really shows. I talked with Paula afterwards and there were 3 kids in total that decided that they wanted Jesus to forgive them for their sins. Awesome.

Kudos to you Mrs. Paul and staff!

The frustrating parts of ministry.

I've been keeping tabs on Perry Noble for over a year now. He's the Sr. Pastor of a church that is exploding in Anderson, SC. He posted something on his blog today that just frustrates me. Take a look at it here.

Now I'm not frustrated at Perry, but I am frustrated at people who criticize for the sake of criticizing. I love how they handled their response. Classic.

When Mike and I went to C3 in Florida a few years back Ed Young Jr. said "God gave you eyes, plagiarize!" Then he clarified by saying "If you are going to copy, copy and make it better!"

What compels a person to keep harping on someone when they are making forward progress for the Kingdom? Why can't they just move on and find something/someone else that floats their boat and let the ones they are complaining about continue to do the work that God has called them to do?

Woke up today, in an alternate universe.

Wow, my head is spinning. I start checking my feeds today and I first read that Terry Storch is moving to Lifechurch.tv. I met Terry in Fort Lauderdale at a C3 regional conference a couple of years back and he was the first blogger that I started reading. He was the Tech Pastor at Fellowship at the time and then moved on to be the campus pastor of one of Fellowship's campus's, which took his time away from blogging :(

Through Terry's blog the second blogger I started reading was Tony Morgan, and today I also read this and this. I met Tony at the Drive Conference this year and fumbled all over my words.

At this point, I'm trying to recall who the third blogger was that I read because things usually happen in 3's.

Terry and Tony, congratulations on your new positions and keep up the awesome work for the kingdom!
